I got a bass guitar only a few months back so I am totally new to this. I did know that I needed to have my bass "set up" so it's as easy to play as possible. Honestly, I was a little intimidated about asking questions so I was hesitant to go to a place like Guitar Center because I didn't want to seem stupid. I found Brian at Sacramento Guitar Repair online so I emailed him and he set an appointment with me to bring in my bass. Brian is a very nice guy and very knowledgeable when it comes to instruments. He was very good at explaining everything to me and making recommendations as to what I should do with my bass. He explained stuff to me like I was a five year old child which I appreciated because, like I said, I'm pretty clueless about instruments. Even during the holidays he was able to get my bass back to me in a quickly and I thought the price was very reasonable. I think whether you're an advanced player or a total noob like me Brian is the person you should go to for all your musical instrument needs.

After years of sitting in storage, I finally brought in my three guitars to Sacramento Guitar Repair to have them all serviced and restored by Brian. I hauled in a Gretsch Electromatic, Epiphone Les Paul, and an acoustic Yahama and requested to have "the works" completed on each of them. Communication with Brian was solid from start to finish, and it was super easy to schedule a convenient time for drop-off and pick-up at his shop.
I was impressed with Brian's knowledge and attention to detail, and he was quite the expert on restoration and repairs. He was able to clean and polish away most of the tarnish on the gold hardware on the Gretsch, and he even managed to replace the tremolo handle for me. I was thrilled to see the Gretsch restored back to its former glory! In addition to the works (string change, light fret polish, clean & oil fingerboard, as needed equipment adjustments, hardware and electronics check, etc.) I also had Brian lower the action on the acoustic Yamaha. I can finally play my guitar comfortably without the strings digging in.
All my guitars now feel, sound, and look their best - all thanks to Brian's expertise. Not only was the service excellent, but his prices were fair for all the work that he did. He even managed to finish all three guitars ahead of schedule, which was awesome. If I need anything else repaired, replaced, or restored, Brian is the guy!

Picked up my 1967 Martin 6 string today. I have to say Brian is friendly and super knowledgeable! When I dropped it off, I bombarded him with questions about what repairs he recommended. He walked me through everything he needed to do. My guitar sounds absolutely better than ever and easier to play. I'm going to bring in My Taylor. Happy and loyal customer. Thx Brian!
08/8/23 Here is my second review: I took my Martin back in to Brian to get the pick guard replaced, as my old one was shrinking and I did not want it to crack my guitar. Just picked it up and Wow it is perfect. Please see the close up of my new guard. Brian did a fantastic job. Thx again Brian. 🙂
